Data Scientist

We are looking for Data Scientists to join our leading AgTech client to help develop data solutions. Starting February 2025, for a minimum of 12 months.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Leads the development of a data science research framework, including the creation of a testing and evaluation computational environment, an internal code/method review process, and a technology transfer strategy to convert data into valuable products.
• Transforms data from various systems and platforms into scalable products and services that enhance the organization’s financial performance and strengthen relationships with customers. 
• Provides leadership and guidance to data scientists within various domains.
• Communicates findings, ranging from technical white papers to high-level business recommendations for decision-makers.

QUALIFICATIONS

• 10-15 years of experience in developing algorithms within an applied research commercial environment.Experience in analysing operational customer data, with some preferred within a commercial agriculture context.
• A PhD is preferred (MS required) in a quantitative or computational science field.
• Expertise in developing innovative techniques related to data acquisition, ETL processes, pattern recognition, statistical analysis, and scalability in applied research.Well organized, good communication skills
• Proficient in writing production-ready code using common data and decision science programming languages and tools (Python, R, Scala, etc.).
• Familiarity with working with datasets related to weather, climate, soils, satellite data, or genomics.
• Experience with Computer Vision and Geospatial technologies is advantageous.
• Ideally a minimum of 5-7 years of experience managing junior to mid-level data science teams.
