About the Role
Are you an experienced IT Business Consultant with a strong background in data privacy, optimization, and IT systems? Do you have a passion for improving processes around data retention and minimization in line with evolving privacy regulations?
We are looking for a skilled professional to join a leading university in Tilburg, working closely with the Security Team headed by the CISO, to optimize technical privacy processes and improve the handling of personal data within the organization. This is a strategic, business-facing role that requires solid technical insight and strong stakeholder collaboration.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and contribute to projects focused on the technical optimization of privacy processes, particularly regarding data retention periods and data minimization.
  • Analyze IT infrastructure and systems to identify improvement and optimization opportunities, aligning with privacy compliance standards.
  • Evaluate the performance of existing systems, processes, and data handling methods, proposing practical technical solutions for improvement.
  • Design and implement IT solutions for archiving and cleaning up personal data, collaborating closely with the Information and Archive Management teams.
  • Understand and analyze organizational needs, translating them into effective technical and process-driven solutions.
  • Provide technical advice and support to end-users and internal stakeholders on privacy-related IT solutions.
  • Act as a bridge between the IT/Security department and business units, ensuring that privacy and data governance requirements are embedded into system designs and processes.
What You Bring
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role as IT Business Consultant, IT Business Analyst, or Privacy/Compliance-focused IT Consultant.
  • knowledge of IT systems, networks, and architecture
  • Strong understanding of data privacy principles, including GDPR, data retention, and data minimization.
  • Analytical mindset — able to assess complex problems and develop practical, actionable solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills — able to translate technical issues to non-technical stakeholders and vice versa.
  • Proactive, self-driven, and collaborative — able to work independently and within cross-functional teams.
  • Fluent in Dutch (essential) and good command of English.
