About the Role:

As a Principal Data Platform Engineer, you’ll be responsible for designing and integrating modern data technologies, leading the migration to Snowflake, and driving the development of a data platform. Your work will support critical data engineering and data science initiatives, enabling better access to and use of data across the company.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement scalable data solutions, integrating various data technologies.
• Lead the migration to Snowflake, optimising performance and ensuring seamless integration with enterprise systems.
• Develop and manage end-to-end data pipelines to support smooth data flow and storage.
• Collaborate with engineering and product teams to deliver cross-functional projects and streamline processes.
• Drive the adoption of a data mesh framework, enhancing the organization’s ability to use data more effectively.
• Participate in agile methodologies, contributing to continuous improvement in all aspects of data platform engineering.

Required Technical Skills:

• Strong coding skills in Python and SQL.
• Proficiency in Snowflake, including query optimisation and performance tuning.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms like Azure or AWS.
• Knowledge of tools such as DBT, Airflow, GraphQL, and Collibra.
• Familiarity with distributed systems, APIs, and cloud computing architectures.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and infrastructure as code.
• A collaborative mindset, with the ability to mentor and support team members.
• A proactive, problem-solving approach, focused on continuous improvement.
