Job Overview:We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Senior Avionics Electrical Engineer to join our client based in Los Angeles. This role involves designing, testing, and integrating electrical systems for avionics equipment and components. The Senior Avionics Electrical Engineer will be responsible for leading the electrical design and analysis of avionics systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements, and contributing to innovative aircraft systems development. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering with an emphasis on avionics and aerospace systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, development, and testing of electrical systems for avionics equipment, including power distribution, signal processing, and communication interfaces.
- Perform detailed electrical analysis and simulation to ensure the performance, safety, and reliability of avionics systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical, software, and systems engineers, to integrate avionics systems into aircraft.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers, guiding them through complex electrical engineering challenges.
- Oversee and review electrical schematic diagrams, PCB designs, and wiring harnesses for avionics systems.
- Ensure compliance with relevant aviation standards (e.g., DO-160, DO-254, DO-178) and regulatory requirements (e.g., FAA, EASA).
- Lead troubleshooting, failure analysis, and root cause analysis for avionics electrical systems during design, testing, and operational phases.
- Contribute to risk assessments and safety analyses related to electrical and avionics systems.
- Prepare and review technical documentation, including design reports, test plans, and specifications.
- Manage project timelines and resources effectively to meet engineering milestones and delivery deadlines.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes relevant to avionics and electrical engineering in aerospace.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Avionics Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in avionics electrical engineering, with a strong background in avionics systems and electrical integration.
- Experience with aircraft electrical systems design, integration, and testing.
- Knowledge of aerospace standards (DO-160, DO-254, DO-178) and regulatory guidelines (FAA, EASA).
- Familiarity with electrical analysis tools (e.g., MATLAB, SPICE) and CAD tools for schematic capture and PCB design (e.g., Altium, OrCAD).
- Experience with troubleshooting and failure analysis of avionics electrical systems.
- Strong understanding of power distribution, signal integrity, and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) for avionics applications.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with modern aircraft avionics systems (e.g., fly-by-wire, cockpit avionics, navigation, and communication systems).
- Advanced certification in avionics or aerospace engineering.
- Familiarity with modern tools for electrical design and simulation (e.g., PSpice, ANSYS, Simulink).
- Experience with aircraft certification processes and associated documentation.
