A developer-led software consultancy is partnering with a tier-one investment bank on a critical project, and we’re seeking engineers to work on global-scale technology solutions with massive impact—without the red tape. This is a unique opportunity to work in the banking sector without being bogged down by the typical politics. You’ll focus purely on engineering, leveraging modern technologies and cloud-native principles to build secure, scalable platforms using open-source tools. The work includes core engineering, API development, and building Python-based frameworks that enable safe and efficient use of generative AI across the bank’s ecosystem.

What You’ll Do:

• Develop robust, reusable Python code, building libraries and frameworks to safely integrate GenAI technologies into the bank’s infrastructure.
• Work on key APIs that consume data used by GenAI tools, enabling innovations like generating database queries and client reports from free-text inputs.
• Design and develop globally scaled backends using microservices or distributed systems.
• Deploy Python applications using Docker and Kubernetes, contributing to the development of cloud-native, scalable systems.
• Tackle PDF parsing and OCR (optical character recognition) challenges.
• Build data pipelines and handle large-scale, enterprise-level systems.
• Engage in research on new AI/ML tools, and present your findings to the team.

What You Bring:

• 5+ years of Python programming experience (Django preferred). 
• A keen interest and some commercial experience in AI/ML and emerging GenAI technologies.
• Experience with DevOps tools like Docker and Kubernetes (preferred but not essential).
• Experience working with systems at scale, handling large datasets across regions.
• Strong communication skills, able to articulate complex issues to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• The ability to drive ideas and solve challenges within a large, matrixed organization.
